This is not your typical More Things with MAS newsletter. As we reflect on the month of June, we celebrate the freedom to love and choose for ourselves. And while this celebration of freedom continues through the 4th of July, we want to remind you that today, not everyone in this country has the freedom to choose.
We are living through a moment in history that is uncharted and terrifying—and leaves many feeling hopeless. During a month dedicated to celebrating Pride and the freedom to love, we saw the overturn of Roe v Wade. We saw women’s rights stripped away. We are now seeing an attempt to roll back LGBQT+ rights.
MAS firmly supports the rights for all. We cannot go backwards. We have to go forward. We are extending our healthcare travel reimbursement coverage to include reproductive and pregnancy-related procedures. This isn’t some employee perk, it’s healthcare. And if your company doesn’t have this type of coverage in place, now is the time to make sure they do.
No one should stand idly by. We must all raise our voices. We must all vote until these human rights are returned. Our freedoms are never guaranteed—join us to continue to fight. We hope that these resources below will fuel that fire for you.
